Miss Gentle Rise

A quiet space for gentle living, reflection and care. Written from lived experience.

A quiet space for gentle living, reflection and care with a Parastomal Hernia and Ileostomy.

Written from over Two Decades of Lived Experience.

This is a space built from many layers of my life, childhood stories, trauma, healing, motherhood, moments that broke me open, and moments that stitched me back together.

It’s also a space shaped by my body: life with an ileostomy, the reality of a parastomal hernia, and the quiet, complicated work of trying to live fully inside a body that doesn’t follow the easy path.

I write because writing became the way I survived, the way I made sense of everything from emotional chaos to medical uncertainty.

I write to understand myself. I write to stay afloat.

And I write in the hope that someone else, somewhere, might feel a little less alone.

Miss Gentle Rise is my collection of short stories, reflections, and real-life experiences, the soft beginnings of healing, the hard days of living with chronic conditions, the flashbacks of childhood, and the ongoing journey of rebuilding a life that’s been turned upside down more than once.

If you’re here, you’re welcome.

This is my rise, gentle as it has to be, and honest as it needs to be.
